It is with tremendous sadness that we closed our doors for the last time on Friday, February 8th. As most everyone knows, the County Sheriffs have purchased three of the four buildings here in Live Oak Business Park. The building we are located in is one of the three they have purchased. In preparation for remodeling the buildings and grounds to house the new Center for Public Safety, the County has been in the process of relocating the impacted businesses for the last 20 months.
Although this has been devastating to our business and to us personally, we hold no ill will towards any involved. Barry Swenson and his staff have always been extremely supportive of us, and we understand the business reasons behind their decision to sell. We also understand the need for the Sheriffs to have a facility capable of supporting the work they do on all of our behalves.
To date, we have been unable to find a suitable location to move our café. We had hoped to hang on until we could transition to a new location, but that just wasn’t meant to be.
Please know that we will be doing our best to help our remaining employees locate new jobs. We are so very grateful to them for sticking by us through this incredibly difficult time. They have been a huge part of why we have kept our doors open here far longer than financially prudent.
You, our customers, are the other reason we persevered. It’s been such a pleasure to be a part of this community. We have grown so fond of all of you. You have become our friends and family. We will miss you.
We will try everything possible to reopen our doors in a new home sometime in the future. When we do, we’ll advertise the heck out of our new spot in hopes of seeing you all again. Until then, please accept our profound gratitude for your patronage over the last 8 years.
Wishing with all our hearts that things were different,
